Playing Cricket with Friends on Ifira Island

Me and my cousins played cricket with a bunch of super nice kids on Ifira Island.
This was the first time I ever played cricket. It was fun.

Vanuatu Survivor TV Series on Efate Island

We are at Havannah Harbour where they filmed the Vanuatu Survivor TV series.
Three Survivor TV series were filmed here. One was from the United States, one from Australia, and one from France. They all used the same location.

World War 2 Plane Wreck at North Efate

During World War 2 the Americans sent about 100,000 soldiers to Vanuatu. They set up military bases on the islands of Efate and Santo.
On the northern part of Efate we saw a plane wreck from the 1940s. This plane crashed because it ran out of fuel. There are other plane and ship wrecks also.

Group Photo on Road Trip

We had lunch under coconut trees and played on the beach. We found coconuts on the ground and shells on the beach.
There were no other people around.

A Road Trip Around Efate Island

We drove around Efate Island. It took most of the day.
In this picture we are standing in front of a huge banyan tree.

Sailing at Erakor Island

Uncle Steve and Aunty Carren rented a catamaran sailboat. We all had a turn. It was a lot of fun.

Snorkelling on Erakor Island

We went snorkelling and saw many fish and many starfish.

Watch out for Falling Coconuts on Erakor Island

When coconuts are ready they fall from the tree. You need to be careful in case they hit you on the head.

A Local "Ian B" on Ifira Island

Some people put their name on the outside of their house. This person on Ifira Island is also called Ian B.
Many homes in Vanuatu are made of tin and wood. More expensive homes are made of cement.

Mommy Holding a Baby on Ifira Island

My mom held a baby named Sarah at our friends home.

A Story on Ifira Island

Aunty Carren told the kids a story in the local language Bislama.
Many words in Bislama sound the same in English.

Basketball on Ifira Island

Here are local villagers playing basketball.
Their basketball nets are nailed on two large trees. The gound was dirt but flat and good to bounce the ball.

Playing with Local Kids on Ifira Island

Me and my cousins played with some nice local kids. They also gave us a tour of part of the island.

Local Village on Ifira Island

We went to Ifira Island again and visited friends.
We always ride a boat to the island, then walk through the local village. The island is small and we have walked around most of it.

Snorkelling at Eton Beach

Snorkelling with Uncle Steve, Erin and my dad. I'm wearing the red swimsuit in this photo.
The tide was low so we were very close to the coral and fish.

On the Road Again!

This is the road between Whitesands Beach and Eton Beach on the eastern part of Efate Island.
The road has many large pot holes so were drove slow. After driving for one hour we only saw 3 or 4 other cars on the road.

White Sands Beach

Me and my parents enjoying the sun and breeze at Whitesands Beach.

White Sands Beach

Uncle Steve, Aunty Carren, Erin and Quentin.

White Sands Beach

We are digging in the sand looking for coral and other things.
This is a good beach for surfing because it has big waves but there is a lot of coral so it could be dangerous.

The White Sands Beach Boys!

The beach boys are always ready for action.

White Sands Beach

My mom and dad at Whitesands Beach. Uncle Steve taking their photo.
It was like the Survivor Vanuatu TV series with our cameras taking photos, but not usually in the pictures.
There is miles and miles of beautiful beach at Whitesands, but there were only one or two local ni-Vanuatu and tourists there. We only saw a few other people the whole day.

This is my mom and Aunty Carren at Whitesands Beach.

Another Road Trip

We are ready for a road trip. This time to White Sands and Eton beaches.
Aunty Carren took the photo. Can you see her in Uncle Steve's sunglasses?

Iririki Island

Swimming and playing on Iririki Island.
This island is a seven minute boat ride from the main island Efate. Port Vila is across the water in the photo.
